The teeing area is one of the only areas on the golf course where you have a element of control of the lie and postion of your ball, why not take advantage of this. Here are a couple of quick tips that will help you with your tee shots. 
 
Two club lengths- the rules of golf allow you Tee boxto take two club lengths back away from the tee, so if your inbetween clubs why not tee up further back. 
Tee up on the side of trouble- when there is obvious danger of the tee, place your ball on the same side as the trouble. This will mean your hitting away from trouble and that you wont have the hazards in your eyeline. The photo shows that I have teed up on the left hand side of the tee so that I am hitting away from the out of bounds on the left.
